Stealing Away in the Night

Cliche title time!

It’s the day of leaving. My suitcases are all packed – stuffed near to their limits, I might add – and waiting by the door. Loose ends are tied. Trash-like plastic bags and other items I don’t want to bring back are thrown away, or waiting in the corner to be given away. Cats have been snuggling with me for a large portion of the day. I need to print out my boarding passes and then I can go.

Of course, since my flight is at 10:30, I’m not leaving quite yet. I could very well leave right now, or very soon, and arrive at the airport 3 hours early, and I’m likely to do something like that. I tend to get nervous about flights until I’m actually on the plane. Flying is fine, but waiting for the flight, worrying about checking bags and security is the part I hate. And turbulence.
